Учебное пособие предназначено для самостоятельной работы студентов 2-го года обучения в бакалавриате очно-заочного отделения.

Целью пособия является развитие у студентов навыков чтения и профессиональной коммуникации.

Материалы пособия охватывают такую тематику, как бухгалтерский учет, налогообложение, кредитование, финансовые инструменты и т.д. Все упражнения пособия снабжены ключами для самопроверки.

Работа с материалом осуществляется следующим образом. Материал дается студенту в электронном виде. В каждом из модулей студент заполняет ответами соответствующие поля. По окончании работы с заданиями модуля необходимо нажать на кнопку "Проверить ответы" и узнать количество верных ответов. Для работы над ошибками в меню есть пункт "Answers", в котором можно сравнить свои ответы с правильными.

This electronic study aid is written by experienced teachers, and aims to give students the best possible self-training facilities for success in their course. The material for study is grouped into six units of identical structure providing students with the opportunity to upgrade their reading and communication skills and master the vocabulary oriented towards the needs of businessmen. Each unit in the series encourages thorough study and a full understanding of the concepts involved and is designed as a subject companion and a study aid to be used throughout the course of the English language.

Many students fail to achieve the grades which their ability deserves, owing to the lack of a structured revision strategy. This series aims to remedy this deficiency, by encouraging a disciplined approach in preparing for and taking the final exam.

The largely self-contained nature of each unit gives this study aid a flexibility which the students can use to their advantage. The reading material contains both background information and details of the syllabus coverage so that students can read the texts and do the tasks selectively, in any order appropriate to the stage they have reached in their course. Each of the tasks given in the unit has an answer electronically provided. By comparing their answers with the total credit shown at the end of work students should be able to assess the correctness of their approach. This will help them to learn from their mistakes.

Besides reading comprehension and vocabulary tasks this study aid includes important linguistic information about English idioms. Without them our language would be tasteless as rainwater. English and Russian idioms have always arisen in different socioeconomic conditions of their development, which are never the same in any two nations. These differences are brought out in the images that are used, in the subject of textual situations and in speech in which these idioms are used. Students are likely to find it interesting to think up their own versions of using the idioms.

Students are welcome to realize the full potential of their knowledge of the English language.
